Welcome caddies!

We hope you've had an amazing week! Even though we were not traditionally together it sure was fun "seeing" you through the week. Please keep in touch with one another the rest of the summer by continuing to move or track the Travel Bugs on their travels.

Have a great rest of your summer, Caddies!! Thank you for all you've done!

Treasure Hunt
We’ve started FOUR geocache travel bugs for you all to find and track this week (or through the summer or years). “What is a travel bug,” you ask? Well, it’s an individualized item with its own code typed onto its body. When you find it, log into geocaching.com or use the app on your phone to enter the code and “log” it. You can either visit it, leave a note, or drop it in a new geocache. Please don’t hang on to the bug for more than two hours so we can keep it moving and available for all campers and caddies to find. Take a selfie with it! The more photos on each bug's page, the more fun we’ll all have watching it’s travels. See this website for more details or reach out to another geocacher for more information.

Let's see which bug can travel the farthest by Friday noon!

SO FAR:
Flit - 7 miles
Scarab - 13 miles
Humbuz - 36 miles (someone is clearly in the lead!)
Dragonfly - 5 miles

OUR BUGS:
Flit
HumBuz
Scarab
Dragonfly
Click on the buttons above to find out where each bug was "Recently Spotted" to track them down and move. Check in each day to see where your favorite bug has moved to and help it gain some miles by moving it again.

WARNING!
Do not relocate a travel bug without logging it in the geocaching app. We nearly lost one already.  Yikes! Thank you Daisy & Dandelion for finding Flit.
Here are some extra details on how to move or "log" your bug:
  • Open your Geocaching app
  • Click on the cache link in your app by tapping the icon on your map
  • Click on "trackables" from the cache page
  • Click on the "log" button to the right of the corresponding travel bug listed
  • Enter the code from the back of the bug and now you can "Retrieve" (put it in your inventory to place somewhere else) or "Discover" (leave a note about finding it, but leave the bug for another camper or caddie)
  • If you "Retrieve" the bug you can take it with you to another cache where you can then "Drop", using the same steps as above only this time the bug will be listed under the "Yours" tab rather than the "Geocache" tab after clicking on "trackables"
  • Alternatively you can "dip" the bug in a different cache which means you and the bug stopped by for a visit, maybe helped it take a selfie, but kept on walking
  • To leave and image click on the camera icon on the bottom left corner while entering your log
  • Please try not to take longer than two hours between retrieving and dropping the bug so others can follow it to its new location
